Butler Kids

 Welcome Butler Kids and Parents!

This page was created especially for you!

Spring 2024

We're been going through the stories leading up to Easter! On Palm Sunday the children will have an opportunity to help lead us in worship with palm branches!

You can find the Easter story in Luke 22-24. The Message is an easy-to-read version. You can jump to it here!

- What were the people saying when Jesus rode into Jerusalem? (See John 12: Hosanna! Blessed is the King!)

- Why were they so happy he was coming? (They thought the Messiah would become King, soon, and change everything!)

- When Jesus had a special meal with the disciples, what did he do? (Talked about, bread & wine and his body & blood)

- Why was Jesus saying these things? (Because he knew he would die on the cross, but also raise to life again)

- Why does it matter that Jesus died on the cross? (Because he gave his life, his sacrifice covered our sins and made a way for us to back to God. We can never be perfect enough. So God made a way. This is how we know Jesus loves us so!)

- Why does it matter that Jesus raised to life again and the tomb was empty? (Because we can live a new kind of life too!)

See below for how to engage further with the verse and theme of these God stories each week!
!  Watch for the key verse to practice, and when you're ready, share it with Teacher Maria! It brings her so much JOY!

?  What did you think? Now you get to share about it with a family member or friend!

Sunday mornings
There are in person classes for kids on Sundays! Some Sundays there will also be a table in the sanctuary with activity pages for the kids to do while in service. Many of these connect with our lesson and we will soon have the kids share the verse, or big idea, or activity page in our service.  Kids will be dismissed for their class during the 10:45am worship services.  (Please remember to to stay home if anyone in your household is experiencing covid-like symptoms. Thanks!) We're looking forward to being together!

Together with our Sunday School volunteers, I would like to encourage you to have a regular Church at Home time. Perhaps call it Jesus and Jammies! This is something you can do with your kids early in the morning or before bed at night. Please know we are praying for you and your child/children.

Love, Teacher Maria
It is our hope that the resources on this page will empower parents to take an even more active role in the spiritual training of their children. If you would like a printed copy of the lessons or supplies for the suggested crafts, please contact me and we can make arrangements on how to get it to you.

I hope to get in touch with each family by phone or even video over the coming days. You are always welcome to contact me directly, too!
